8 of the Best Wedding Venues in Lake Macquarie
From waterfront estates to relaxed coastal spaces, here are 8 of my favourite wedding venues in Lake Macquarie — and what makes each one so special.

If you’re planning a wedding in Lake Macquarie and you’re still searching for the right venue, you’re in a wonderful position. This region has quietly become one of the most beautiful places to get married in NSW — and I say that as someone who has spent the better part of 18 years travelling to weddings across the lake, the suburbs, and the surrounding countryside.
As a mobile bridal hair and makeup artist based in the region, I’ve had the privilege of being part of wedding mornings at some truly stunning spaces. Here are eight of my favourites.
Lake Macquarie Wedding Venues
1. Rafferty's Resort, Cams Wharf
Rafferty’s Resort sits on the northern shores of Lake Macquarie and it is, without question, one of the most breathtaking wedding settings in the region. The lakeside backdrop is the kind that stops guests in their tracks — especially in the golden hour before the ceremony. What I love about Rafferty’s is that it genuinely works as a full wedding weekend destination. Guests stay on site, the morning is unhurried, and the whole day unfolds at its own beautiful pace. I come to the resort on the wedding morning and set up wherever the bridal party is based — the light off the water through the resort rooms is simply gorgeous to work in, and there’s a calm, celebratory energy here that I absolutely love being part of.
2. Caves Coastal Bar and Bungalows, Caves Beach
There’s a magic to Caves Beach that I don’t think can be replicated anywhere else in Lake Macquarie. Caves Coastal sits right on the beachfront with sweeping coastal views, and the bungalow-style accommodation makes it one of the most popular choices for brides who want their getting-ready morning to feel like a genuine escape. I’ve worked here on some truly wonderful wedding mornings — the natural light streaming through the bungalows is exceptional, and there’s something so special about doing hair and makeup with the sound of the waves just outside. It puts every bride completely at ease before the day even begins.
3. Apollo International, Charlestown
Apollo International is a long-standing Lake Macquarie favourite and it’s easy to see why. The venue has well-appointed function spaces, a dedicated events team, and the kind of reliable, polished service that takes the stress out of the day. Its central Charlestown location makes it easy for guests travelling from across the region. Apollo has on-site accommodation, which means I can come directly to the hotel rooms on the morning — no rushing, no logistics, just a calm and focused getting-ready experience before the celebrations begin.
4. Tinta, Belmont
Tinta is one of those venues that attracts brides with a genuine eye for detail — and it shows in everything from the considered interiors to the quality of the food and wine. The space has a warm, intimate atmosphere that works beautifully for both small celebrations and larger receptions. What makes it even better is that there’s accommodation on site, so the wedding morning can be as relaxed and contained as you want it to be. I come directly to the accommodation, set up, and we work through hair and makeup in that beautiful Belmont setting without anyone needing to go anywhere. It’s the kind of morning I love — unhurried, focused, and surrounded by lovely surroundings.
5. 8 at Trinity, Lake Macquarie
8 at Trinity is a beautifully styled venue that photographs incredibly well. The interiors are elegant and well-considered, and the whole space has a warmth and intimacy that makes guests feel genuinely welcome. It’s a venue where the details matter — and couples who book here tend to feel the same way about every aspect of their day. Most brides get ready locally before arriving at Trinity, and I’m happy to come to wherever you’re based that morning, whether that’s a nearby Airbnb, a family home, or local accommodation.
6. Lake Macquarie Yacht Club
The Lake Macquarie Yacht Club offers one of the most stunning ceremony and reception backdrops in the entire region. Those sweeping views across the water create a natural, effortless beauty that no amount of styling can replicate. It’s a particularly popular choice for couples who want something relaxed and scenic without sacrificing sophistication. The Yacht Club doesn’t have on-site getting-ready facilities, so my brides typically prepare at nearby accommodation or a home in the area — I come to them there, and they arrive at the Yacht Club looking and feeling their absolute best.
7. Mandalong Country Estate
For couples who love the idea of a private rural estate wedding, Mandalong Country Estate is hard to beat. Set in the countryside with beautiful grounds and a genuine sense of seclusion, it’s the kind of venue that makes a wedding feel truly exclusive. Mandalong has on-site accommodation, which means I can come directly to the estate on the morning — the natural surroundings, the open light, and the peaceful setting make for a genuinely special getting-ready experience. There’s nowhere quite like it in the Lake Macquarie region.
8. Wallaringa Farm, Wallaringa
If you’re dreaming of an intimate wedding that feels completely removed from the ordinary, Wallaringa Farm is unlike anything else in the region. Nestled within a 750-acre working cattle farm, this private three-bedroom homestead looks out over rolling green hills, grazing horses, and the kind of unhurried countryside that makes everything feel still and special. It caters exclusively to micro weddings and elopements — a maximum of 12 guests — which means every single detail of the day is entirely focused on you and the people who matter most.
With accommodation sleeping eight on site, I come directly to the farm on the wedding morning. There’s no rushing, no noise, no sense of being on anyone else’s schedule — just a beautiful private setting, gorgeous natural light, and a getting-ready experience that feels as considered and personal as the wedding itself. For couples who want something truly intimate and completely their own, Wallaringa Farm is one of the most special venues I’ve had the pleasure of working at in this region.
