A Newcastle Makeup Artist Who Comes to You
I am a mobile wedding makeup artist in Newcastle, and mobile is the whole point. On your wedding morning I arrive at the house in Merewether, the apartment in Honeysuckle or the hotel suite in the city with the full kit, and you get ready in your own room with your own people around you. No salon, no drive across town in a gown, no clock that belongs to somebody else.
I have been a makeup artist for 18 years and a hairstylist for 24, and for four consecutive years Bellus has been named a Wedding Diaries Editor’s Choice Award winner across Newcastle, the Hunter Valley, Port Stephens and the Central Coast. I am based at Cameron Park, between Newcastle and Lake Macquarie, so every Newcastle and Lake Macquarie booking is a short drive and there is no travel fee. Parking on the day is the only thing I ask you to cover.
If you are comparing artists, the how to choose a wedding makeup artist in Newcastle guide is the honest version of the questions worth asking. This page is the short version of what you get when you book me.

What You Get
What a Bellus Makeup Booking Includes
Airbrush or traditional application, your choice, at the same price. Individual lashes, always. A trial at my Cameron Park studio before the day, where the look is actually decided rather than guessed at. And me, personally, on the morning: I do every bride myself, every time.
I take one wedding a day. If your party is larger than four I bring another stylist with me at no extra cost, so a party of ten still finishes on time without anyone being rushed, and I still do the bride. She goes last, so her makeup is at its freshest when the photographer arrives and the cars pull up.
Every product I use is chosen to last from a nine o’clock start to the last dance: long-wear bases, setting that holds through happy tears and a hot marquee, and a finish that reads as skin in photographs rather than as makeup. The airbrush versus traditional article explains how I choose the base for your skin.

The Looks
The Bridal Makeup Looks I Build Most
Most of my Newcastle brides land somewhere between natural and glamorous, and the five looks on the bridal makeup page cover that whole range. Natural boho bridal makeup for the bride who wants to look like herself on a very good day. Soft glam and romantic, the most booked look on the site, warm and luminous with a gentle eye. Classic and timeless for a look that will not date in the album. Bold and sophisticated for the bride who wears a strong lip every week. And a modern luminous glow for skin that looks lit from within.
You do not need to pick one before you enquire. Bring the saved photographs to the trial, or bring nothing but the dress, and we build it together from your own face outwards.

The Morning
How a Newcastle Wedding Morning Runs
The bride takes about two hours for hair and makeup, and each additional person is 45 to 60 minutes per service. I build your run sheet backwards from the ceremony: take the ceremony time, subtract the drive, subtract the photographer’s getting-ready window, then subtract the service time for the whole party, and that is when I knock on the door. The wedding morning timeline post walks through the arithmetic.
Newcastle mornings are the easy ones, because nothing is far. I work across the whole city and the lake, from Merewether and The Junction to Charlestown and Hamilton, and the Newcastle weddings page lists every suburb and the venues I know well, from Noah’s on the Beach to Customs House.

Pricing
What Wedding Makeup Costs in Newcastle
Bride makeup is $160, bridesmaids $150, wedding guests $140 and mothers of the bride and groom $130, each one traditional or airbrush with individual lashes included. Hair and makeup together is $320 for the bride and $300 for a bridesmaid, and the minimum booking for hair and makeup is three people. A creative makeup trial at the studio is $150.
There is no travel fee anywhere in Newcastle or Lake Macquarie. A $300 deposit secures your date, and the full list, including flower girls, hair by length and extensions, is on the pricing page. If you are getting married outside the city, the Hunter Valley and Central Coast makeup artist pages cover the travel fee for those regions.

How much does a wedding makeup artist cost in Newcastle?
Bride makeup with Bellus is $160, airbrush or traditional, with individual lashes included. Bridesmaids are $150, wedding guests $140 and mothers of the bride and groom $130. Hair and makeup together is $320 for the bride and $300 for a bridesmaid. Travel within Newcastle and Lake Macquarie is free; parking on the day is the only extra.
Can I book makeup only, without hair?
Makeup is priced on its own on the pricing page, so yes. The minimum booking for hair and makeup is three people; tell me who needs what when you enquire and I will confirm what works for your party and your date.
Is airbrush makeup an extra charge?
No. Every makeup service is traditional or airbrush at the same price, and individual lashes are always included. Which base suits you is decided at your trial, not by the invoice.
Where is the makeup trial held?
At my studio in Cameron Park, between Newcastle and Lake Macquarie. A creative bridal makeup trial is $150, and a hair trial is also $150 if you want both. The trial is where the look is actually decided, so I recommend it for every bride.
How many weddings do you take on one day?
One. It costs me bookings and it is not negotiable. Your morning is the only morning I am running, and I finish the bride last so she is freshest for the ceremony.
How far ahead should I book a Newcastle wedding makeup artist?
Saturdays in spring and autumn go 12 to 18 months out. A $300 deposit holds your date, and it is not confirmed until the deposit is received.
