Honeysuckle Hotel occupies one of the finest positions on Newcastle’s waterfront — Wharf C on Honeysuckle Drive, where the city opens up to the harbour in the most relaxed and stylish way possible. It’s a venue with a distinctive energy: casual enough to feel genuinely celebratory, sophisticated enough to feel genuinely special. Two private event spaces make it flexible for different wedding styles. The Mezzanine on level one accommodates up to 220 guests in a semi-private cocktail or banquet configuration with its own private bar, while The Harbour Room offers a completely private section of the deck for up to 70 guests — glass-walled, sail-covered, and looking directly out across Newcastle Harbour. The setting photographs beautifully at every hour of the day, and the golden-hour light across the water in the late afternoon is something most couples remember long after the formalities.
I’m a mobile bridal hair and bridal makeup artist based in Cameron Park, and Newcastle’s inner waterfront is well within my regular travel area. What should I bring to my bridal hair and makeup trial?
The most useful things to bring are any headpiece, veil, or hair accessories you're planning to wear, a few reference images for both hair and makeup (even if you're not sure exactly what you want — they give me a great starting point), and ideally a top with a similar neckline to your dress. Trials are at my Cameron Park studio and take around two and a half hours. By the end, every decision about your look will be confirmed and ready to replicate on the morning.
How do you manage timing for a Honeysuckle afternoon reception?
Once your booking is confirmed, I build a personalised schedule based on your party size, ceremony start time, and how far I'm travelling to your getting-ready location. I always include a comfortable buffer so nothing feels rushed, and I'll provide a complete morning timeline well in advance so you know exactly what to expect on the day.
